Country artist Cam and fabled Motown icon Smokey Robinson may seem like an unlikely duo, but CMT Crossroads is all about bringing artists of different genres and backgrounds together. In this special collaboration, the two performers team up on a rendition of Cam's hit single, "Burning House," which will premiere on March 28 at 10PM ET. Until then, readers can press play above to watch a live performance of the song.

According to CMT, the breakthrough country star felt nervous about performing with Robinson, but recognized the performance as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. "I have to say I canceled another show to be here," she says. "That's how bad I wanted to be here ... Knowing that he is him, I was definitely intimidated / terrified to do this, but what can you do? You love music, and you're not going to turn it down. And singing with him, he's just such an easy person to be around."

"Burning House" was released in 2015, and is to this day the most frequently downloaded song by a female country artist. The single topped the country charts and netted Cam her first platinum record, as well as a Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance.

Despite his rich musical legacy as a solo artist, producer and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Robinson admits that he still gets nervous before walking onstage. "You don't ever know for sure [how it will go] really until you go out there and do it," Robinson comments to CMT about his performance with Cam. "I felt pretty confident because I know that not only is this woman a great songwriter, she's a great singer ... This is a great woman, and she's a great person. That makes it so much easier, and I think we blend better when we feel like that about somebody."

Robinson's impressive career has spanned five decades and over 4,000 songs, including stand-out R&B hits "Shop Around" and "You've Really Got a Hold on Me."
