Big things are happening in Maine and they want you to be a part of it. Maine Fest is on Saturday, September 15th in the town of Maine and the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society is looking for artists and musicians for their first annual event.

It features artists displaying and/or demonstrating their work and musicians performing on porches throughout the village. If you are a local artist or musician and would like to show off what you have then they want to hear from you.

This year’s event will feature a trolley ride through the village, kids activities, food and more. They will highlight the works of local historical artist Clarence Stratton, in fact the picture that you see above is a painting from 1968 of an art fair in the Town of Maine.

The Museum Buildings will be also be open for guided tours including: Nanticoke Valley Historical Society Janet W Bowers Museum,13 Nanticoke Rd; Schoolhouse Number 4, 14 Nanticoke Rd. and Pitcher’s Mill, 2819 NYS RTE 26.

The Nanticoke Valley Historical Society is a non-profit organization that was founded to preserve and showcase the History of the Valley with it's Museum, School House, Grist Mill and Carriage Barns.
