BU Student Working for a Safer Downtown Binghamton

A Binghamton University student who was assaulted while she walked with two friends in downtown Binghamton is telling her story and pushing to make things safer for other students.

Rebecca Lisoski and two other students were confronted by two women and a man shortly after 3 a.m. on January 31.

Lisoski sustained injuries in the incident. Her friends were not hurt. Police have been unable to locate the three people who were involved in the incident.

Rewards totaling $2,000 have been posted for information leading to the arrest of the suspects in the case. People with information may contact Binghamton police detectives at 607.772.7080.

Lisoski talked about what happened on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program. She said she intends to stay in Binghamton as she continues her studies. She discussed some of the things that might be done to make the downtown area less risky for students.
