Broome Kitchen Equipment to Be Sold at Auction
The auctioneer is about to clear out Broome County’s closed central foods facility.
Hundreds of commercial kitchen items at the old central foods building in Endicott will be sold at an auction on Thursday.
Convection ovens, chillers and kitchen utensils are among the things available at the sale. A conveyor system, cabinets, carts and other items also are to be sold.
The auction is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at 2001 East Main Street in Endicott. Prospective buyers can bid on items at the former central foods site or online.
A private operator was hired last year to handle county food preparation services in a cost-cutting move by County Executive Debra Preston. The legislature approved the plan despite protests by employees and others.
