Broome County Undersheriff Minor to Retire

Broome County Undersheriff Alex Minor is planning to retire from the post next month.

The 67-year-old Minor has been undersheriff since March 2010. Prior to joining the Broome County Sheriff's Office, Minor worked for the Binghamton Police Department for almost four decades.

Minor grew up on Binghamton's North Side and graduated from Binghamton North High School. He began his law enforcement career as an officer with Binghamton police in August 1970.

Minor said his final day as undersheriff will be June 5.

Minor was the city police department's detective captain when he departed on a Friday and started work as county undersheriff the following Monday.
