Due to some recent thefts, the Broome County Sheriff’s Office is reminding us to lock up our cars and homes.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is looking into a a string of thefts from cars that happened this past weekend in the areas of JFK Boulevard, Southern Pines Drive, Taft Avenue and Buffalo Streets in the Town of Union.

Items from change to electronics and even debit and credit cards were taken from unlocked vehicles in these areas. In some cases the unknown suspect(s) even entered unlocked garages to gain access to the vehicle.

Sheriff David E. Harder has put out a reminder to lock your car and home during the evening, remove anything of value from your car and most importantly, if you see someone or something that doesn’t seem right in your neighborhood call 911 so that the police can investigate.
