Have you ever wanted to go to jail? I mean to go see what the facility looks like...not getting locked up. Well tonight you can!

When I hear that I have an invitation to go to jail, my first thought might be, "No thanks, I've done nothing wrong and can I leave?"

I can rest easy...mostly because I've done nothing wrong (I don't think), it's an Open House tonight.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office is hosting an Open House tonight. The facility will be open to the public between 6pm and 8pm.

They'll have tours and Safe Child ID cards will be issued. They will also have their equipment on display.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to go to jail but don't want to find out the hard way, here is your chance.

The public safety facility is located on Lieutenant Vanwinkle Drive, just south of the SUNY Broome Community college campus. It's off Upper Front Street in the town of Dickinson.
