If your child is struggling with reading and communication, the Broome County Public Library's Books and Reading Canine program might help, and it's absolutely free.

The "Books and Reading Canine" (BARK-9) program helps improve your child's reading and communication skills through a tried and true method- reading to a dog. BARK-9 uses registered therapy animals who have been tested for health, safety and temperament. These animals visit the library to hear kids read and it's a fun environment for everyone.

BARK-9 dogs will be available on the following dates:

Saturday, February 6, 2016 - 10:00 to 12:00
Saturday, February 20, 2016 - 10:00 to 12:00
