When it came time to make his second album, Brett Eldredge had one goal: To make this album better than the first.  This week Brett co-hosts 'Country Countdown USA' on a HAWK Sunday night at 7 to reveal his strategy, and how he plans to give his fans even more this time.

Brett told Lon Helton, "I started writing when the first album came out.  I never planned to write every song, but I hit this groove, and I knew I had to knock it out of the park, so these songs fit a sound I was going for, and I felt the best I've ever felt in the studio. So I'm pumped."

When Brett had his first #1, he celebrated by skydiving.  For his second #1, he went swimming with sharks. When "Mean To Me" became his third #1, he told reporters he wanted to celebrate with dinner in the sky.  That was about 6 months ago.  So Lon asked Brett what happened: "It's coming.  I have to do it because I put it out there.  But believe it or not, it's tough to get a crane, close down a bunch of streets, and tie a table to the crane and have them hang you 300 feet in the air.  So it's taken a lot more work than I realized, but I'm definitely doing it.  They're working on it.  There's just a lot of hoops we have to jump through."

Brett is currently going for his 4th #1 with "Lose My Mind."  He described the writing process: "I'm an insomniac.  I don't sleep much."

Brett is about to begin the Suits & Boots Tour with Thomas Rhett. You'll hear all about that and stories about Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, and Billy Currington.
