Body of 3-Year-Old Child Found in Otsego County Lake

State police divers have recovered the body of a young boy from Goodyear Lake.

Authorities say the three-year-old child had been reported missing by his family shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday.

According to New York State Police, his body was discovered by an underwater recovery team near a residential dock on the lake around 4:40 p.m.

Resuscitation efforts were attempted. The boy was taken to A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta where he was pronounced dead.

An organized search for the boy started shortly after he was discovered missing from a seasonal residence at Goodyear Lake.

State police were assisted by the Otsego County Sheriff's Department, the Milford Fire Department, Milford EMS and civilians.
