The Binghamton area is rich in art with a number of art shows and museums in the area, including Roberson, The Bundy and the art district on State Street in downtown Binghamton, featuring the ever popular First Friday Art Walk.  Binghamton University and SUNY Broome have prestigious art programs and wonderfully received art shows. In fact, there is a new show that will be become permanent on the SUNY Broome campus.

The Black Student Union is pleased to present "Black and Beautiful," a collection of 10 prints by African-American artist Elton Fax.

Fax was born in 1909 in Baltimore, and earned a bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University in 1931. An illustrator, artist and cartoonist, he died in 1993 in New York City.

"Black and Beautiful" will be permanently displayed on the second floor of the Business Building.

The Black Student Union will present the entire collection from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, February 12, in Decker Health Sciences Room 201.
