Walking in to the River Bistro, inside the DoubleTree by Hilton, formerly The Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel, you know you are in for a nice dining experience.  The hotel and restaurant is situated in the heart of downtown Binghamton, aone block North of Boscov's at 225 Water Street.  The decor of the River Bistro is a comfortable modern contemporary and the menu has some nice choices.

The Binghamton Restaurant Week menu at the River Bistro includes a nice variety for the seafood, vegetarian and meat lover.  With 3 courses for $25.00, everyone is a winner, including C.H.O.W, with a portion of the proceeds helping those who need it in our community.

For the first course, there's a loaded baked potato soup with bacon, sour cream, chives and truffle, baked mac and cheese or the spinach salad.  I was dying for a fresh salad so ordered the salad and really enjoyed the maple vinaigrette dressing.  My friend loved the baked mac and cheese with radiatore pasta and a mix of NY Cheddar, American and smoked Gouda. She said it was very tasty.

For the main course, I recommend the pan-seared Atlantic salmon.  My friend had the chicken pot pie, although presented in a small mug, the Autumn veggies, potatoes, tarragon veloute in the puff pastry was very tasty.

The vegatarian selection sounded delicious. Penne Carbonara is on the River Bistro special menu with parmesan cheese, egg, cracked pepper and fresh herbs.

Save room for course 3.  Binghamton Restaurant Week visitors have a choice of tiramisu or a warm Fall apple turnover a la mode.

In all a tasty evening.  For more information on lunch and dinner specials, participating restaurants, including sample menus during Binghamton Restaurant Week, click HERE.
