Do you remember when we were kids and we'd spend the day cleaning up our neighborhood and then have a big block party to celebrate a hard day's work? Well guess what? Those days are coming back!

The Binghamton North Side Neighborhood Assembly and 'Eat Well. Play Hard. Binghamton!' are looking for you if you're a North Side resident. Block captains are needed for the second annual "I Love my Block" event. The event will happen on Saturday June 7th and will kick off with a neighborhood cleanup/beautification and then an after party at the State Street/Phelps Park.

Block that apply under the leadership of a block captain will receive one of three packages of flowers, herbs and planting materials to help beautify their block.

Interested in being a block captain? You'll be responsible for organizing your block to participate the day of the event in a community cleanup.

If you'd like to be a block captain, you can pick up an application at Lee Barta Community Center, Roosevelt Elementary School or at Citizen Action.

Applications are due May 1st. If you've got any questions, please call the Lee Barta Community Center at 607-772-7226.
