There may still be snow on the ground but the VINES Program (Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments, Inc.) is not holding back as it hosts two fascinating Garden Planning workshops as part of its Green Thumb series.

If you're new to gardening or if you just want to find out more about how to improve your skills, these FREE workshops may just be what you are looking for.  Workshops are March 24th at the United Presbyterian Church at 42 Chenango Street Binghamton at 6pm and March 28th at 1pm at the Lee Barta Community Center, 108 Liberty Street Binghamton.

These 2 workshops help new and experienced gardeners learn the fundamentals to a successful garden project including planting, spacing, determining light exposure, crop scheduling, pest and weed management and more.  You should leave the workshops with a well-organized garden plan to guide you through the season.

Visit VinesGardens.org to find out about future workshops such as vegetable canning, composting, garlic planting and foraging for wild edible plants.
