On Monday, Binghamton University received some bad news when it was learned that Yosef Yacob will be out for the season for the men's basketball team with a shoulder injury.

Yesterday we got some really great news not only for the men's basketball squad but for all BU Sports. It's the largest single gift made to the Athletic Department in it's history.

Binghamton University Foundation Board of Directors member and physician, Dr. Bai Lee has donated 1 MILLION DOLLARS to the University's Department of Athletics.

Some of the million has already gone to men's Basketball team for locker room renovations. Part of the gift will also go to help with the strength and conditioning program.

They also plan to expand the sports medicine team and the Student Success Center. It will support improvements for the University's students, athletes and coaches.

Dr. Lee was the first maternal fetal medicine specialist in Binghamton and established the high-risk pregnancy center at Wilson Memorial Hospital, serving as director.

He's  been a member of the Binghamton University Foundation Board of Directors since 2014.

In his honor, Bu will name the Events Center basketball court the Dr. Bai Lee Court. The official unveiling will take place before the men's basketball game vs. Army at 2:00 on Sunday, November 15.

The men will begin their season with a home exhibition game against SUNY Cobleskill on Friday, November 6th at 8pm.
