Binghamton Senators Play Saturday on Star Wars and Dollars For Scholars Night

The Binghamton Senators are home on Saturday against the Hershey Bears at 7:05 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. There will be a couple events on Saturday.

It's going to be Star Wars night.  Chewbacca, Stormtroopers and even Darth Vadar will be there.  Darth will even take part in the ceremonial puck drop.  Your invited to come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character.  Someone hid my Darth costume, I think it was Traci.  I tried to convince Traci to dress as Princess Lea but she said that she can't get her hair into a bun like that.  She also said that she doesn't have the Princess Lea outfit (you know, the one the Princess wore when she was a prisoner of Jabba the Hut).  I asked her if she meant that she doesn't have it or she doesn't have it anymore.  I got no reply, just a death stare. I think she was trying to silence me with her Darth Vadar mind control.

Members of Garrison Excelsior of the 501st Legion will be on hand selling lightsabers.  Proceeds from the lightsaber sales will benefit A Room to Heal. It's a Broome County charity that has provided healing environments in the homes of 40 children suffering from a critical illness.

Before the Sens game, there will be the Dollars for Scholars charity hockey game.  The teachers from Windsor will take on members of the Binghamton police department.  Dollars for Scholars help hometown students with their educational goals, providing assistance and the financial aid process.  The charity hockey game is at 4:30 with the doors opening at 4pm.  Find out more about Scholars for Dollars and all the other activities for Saturday at www.binghamtonsenators.com.

Kids, get there early on Saturday.  The first 500 kids through the doors at 6pm will receive a set of ThunderStix.  I know my kids love getting them and making lots of noise as we cheer on  the Binghamton Senators.  I'll be doing Chuck a Puck between the 2nd and 3rd period, so hope to see you there.  LET'S GO SENATORS
