The Binghamton Senators return to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena this Saturday, after being on the road for the last 2 weeks. They'll be taking on Norfolk at 7:05.

They are doing a couple of special things Saturday night.  It'll be Veterans and Military Appreciation night.  Stop by early and see some Humvees and an armored personnel carrier on display out in front.  Master Sgt Robert T Shafer from Binghamton will be doing the ceremonial first puck drop.  The B-Sens will also be wearing special patriotic jerseys to be auctioned off after the game.  I won a special patriotic jersey a couple of years ago and everytime I wear it, I remember one of my best friends from high school, John Priestner.  We lost him in Iraq a couple of years ago.  I find this to be a great way to honor and remember my friend.

The B-Sens are also holding a Supply Drive to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy on Saturday at the game.  Pat Cannone and Hugh Jessiman forwards for the Sens and equipment manager Tom Severence have arranged this drive to benefit Long Beach and Staten Island NY.  They hope to personally deliver the items to shelters in the area next week.  The B-Sens will have a "Hurricane Sandy Relief" table on the main concourse of the Arena.  Fans can drop off donations, large or small, there during the game. They need everything from Antibacterial wipe to Ziploc bags and everything in between. To see a list of all the items that they are looking for, go to www.Bsens.com.  Monetary donations will also be accepted.

So hope to see you on the ice between 2nd and 3rd period for Chuck a Puck (Well, I'll be on the ice, hope to see you in the stands).  Bring your items or cash to help out the Hurricane Sandy Victims and "LETS GO SENS."
