Binghamton Restaurant Week is here. Like I've said before, you know it's a good week when it last's 10 days.

Tara and I have a tradition that began 3 years ago, where we go to Binghamton Hots. She recently asked me how the restaurant got it's name. Well, here's the answer.

They got the name from the 'HOT Plate' which is modeled after the famed 'Garbage Plate' of Rochester. These 'Plates' have been a Rochester tradition since 1918.

It's an assortment of cheeseburgers, hot dogs, home fries, macaroni salad, or just about anything else the kitchen can cook up, all topped with HOT's homemade Rochester style hot sauce.

Once again Dave has come up with great menu items for the Week. He always comes up with great desert ideas.

This time around, I really enjoyed the brownie topped with fresh raspberries & sauce. They also have cranberry apple crisp with whipped topping.

Binghamton Hots is at 128 Washington Street, downtown Binghamton. I call Washington Street, "the little side street near the radio station."

Tara couldn't make it with me yesterday. So we're going to make a trip next week. See I told you that having Restaurant Week that goes 10 days is a good thing.

Besides I really, really want to try the apple crisp.....and have another brownie with the fresh raspberries. Maybe I'll start with  the desert.

Remember Binghamton Restaurant Week benefits CHOW (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse) and the Animal Care Council.
