The spring 2016 Binghamton Restaurant Week has had a fantastic run and it isn't over yet.  You can still enjoy lunch and dinner specials through Thursday evening and when you do visit participating Binghamton restaurants, you will help the Handicapped Children's Association and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Binghamton raise needed funds.

Over the weekend, I made a lunch stop at Crepe Heaven, located at 217 Main Street, Binghamton.  I must admit I eat here quite a bit and the owners are always so welcoming; they make me feel like I am family.  I joked with them that my first memory of dining at Crepe Heaven was when I commented how it brought back flavors of my grandmother making me fresh crepes at her house and their response was "EVERYone's grandmother made them crepes!!!"  That response still tickles me!

The first thing you will notice about Crepe Heaven is how clean the restaurant is.  Actually it's spotless.  The ambiance is inviting, casual and relaxing.  It's the perfect place to enjoy a quick bite, a homemade dessert, a lunch or dinner with friends, or the best fresh ground cup of coffee you've ever had.

This is Crepe Heaven and their specialty is heavenly crepes.  They use a special recipe they brought over from Bosnia.  The portion is always generous and the taste is out of this world, using the freshest ingredients.

The Restaurant Week menu allows you to choose 3 courses for $12.  Soups are always homemade and the crepes are made to order.  My favorite is the chicken crepe which is stuffed with shredded chicken, mozzarella cheese and fresh basil.  Save room for a slice of homemade cake (a huge bakery case to choose from) or a mini sweet crepe, again made to order.  I grew up with jam stuffed crepes so I could not resist.  My goal is to try every crepe on the menu and I'm almost there.

Thank you Crepe Heaven for keeping the tasty tradition of crepes thriving in Binghamton and for again being a part of Binghamton Restaurant Week.  Also thank you for making me feel like family.
