Binghamton Mets Win 6th Straight Game and Move Into First Place

The weather is hot and so are the Binghamton Mets! They jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never look back. They defeated New Britain 9-5 for their 6th straight win and 11 of their last 12.

This win puts the B-Mets into sole possession of first place in the Eastern Division.

They lead Reading by one-half game and Trenton by a game and one-half. This is the first time that they've been in first place since April 21st!

In yesterday's game Josh Rodriguez hit his league leading 15th home run. Jared King also hit a grand slam. It was Binghamton's 5th grand salami of the year.

The B-Mets continue their 7 game road trip. Tonight they begin a 4 game set in Trenton against the Double-A Yankees. 1st pitch is at 7:00 and you can hear the game on WNBF-Newsradio 1290.

They return home on Monday against New Britain. There are many things still going on at NYSEG Stadium including the Hawk VIP Picnic.
