The Binghamton Mets are getting ready to celebrate their 25th season with a "Welcome Back B-Mets" dinner on Wednesday, April 6th.  They open the season at home on Thursday, April 7th. That's just the beginning for the B-Mets.

When you attend the home opener, the team will begin a "Name the Team" contest. The Binghamton Mets are going to get a new name and a new mascot for the 2017 season.

So do you have an idea for the team name? I hope it involves the name "Triplets" but that's just me. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's enjoy this season first.

There will be more food options this year at the concession stand. The team store is being renovated and will partner with MILB.com to offer more merchandise.

The playing surface has been replaced. The B-Mets will have over 20 Fireworks Nights and the Kids Zone will be expanded.

You'll be able to submit your entry until April 25th when the top six entries will move on to the next round. The new name won't be unvield until after the 2016 season.

Also next year, they'll have new lighting and a new, raised deck in the Kids Zone area.

There is a lot to be excited about with the Binghamton Mets this year and next year (no matter what their name is).

By the way, you can still get tickets to the "Welcome Back B-Mets" Dinner. They are available at NYSEG Stadium on Henry Street or call the B-Mets office at 607-723-METS or go here.

LET'S GO METS!
