If you work for the city of Binghamton and don’t live inside the city limits, you might want to keep your eyes peeled for moving boxes.

A discussion was held at Binghamton City Council on Monday night about resident requirements for city employees. Council members say they’re considering requiring people who work for the city to live inside the city limits because employees living in the city will help build back the population, which has been dwindling.

Binghamton Council member Bill Berg said:  "Who would be better to live in the city than employees of the city? They work for the city, they get their income from the city, their children would go to city schools, so it would be a win win situation for everyone."

Nothing is set in stone yet as City Council says they'll continue discussing this idea and nothing will change until employee contracts can be renewed.
