Binghamton Man Arrested for Theft of Sunglasses

A Binghamton man is accused of stealing over $1,200 worth of sunglasses from the Sears store in the Oakdale Mall on October 24.

Johnson City Police say 54 year old Charles Warren is accused of leaving the store with the sunglasses then trying to conceal the items from store security by entering a bathroom at the Burlington Coat Factory and stashing the glasses in a garbage can.

Warren was taken into custody near the mall exit next to Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant.

He’s charged with felony grand larceny and evidence tampering as well as misdemeanor petit larceny.

Police say he is also accused in an October 15 theft of another $900 worth of sunglasses from Sears.
