It seems like only yesterday it was summer and as another weekend approaches, Boscov's announced the first holiday parade of the season, the Binghamton Holiday parade is Saturday, November 19th at 1:30 p.m.

I have fond memories of this Christmas parade that runs through Court Street in downtown Binghamton every November.  It makes me remember all the times my Mom and Dad would dress us kids up in our Christmas sweaters and jackets, in hopes of getting a glimpse of Santa, who traditionally closes the parade each year.

While downtown Binghamton has changed in appearance along with the rest of the world,  I'm thankful the tradition of this parade lives on, bringing together marching bands, police and firefighters, and lots of smiling families and children.

This year's parade explores the "Sights and Sounds of the Holidays,"   Up to $50 in Boscov’s gift cards will be awarded to one or more groups that enter a float that portrays this year’s theme.
