At 11pm on January 11, 2006, Bambi Madden, a 34-year-old wife and mom of three left her house on Winding Way in Binghamton to grab a beer. She was wearing black jeans, a black puffy jacket and Timberland boots with $5 in her pocket. Madden didn't make it to the store. She simply vanished.

Madden had a couple prior run-ins with the law, but her family maintains that she wouldn't have left voluntarily. In a June 2007 CBS news story on Bambi's disappearance, then Binghamton Police Captain Alex Minor said, "We did obtain the surveillance tapes. She did not make it to either one of those stores that were in her immediate neighborhood."

Councilman Giovanni Scaringi will honor Madden today, Wednesday, February 17th at 6:30pm at the City Council Chambers at City Hall on Hawley Street in Binghamton. Along with honoring Madden, Councilman Scaringi is expected to present a City Council Proclamation which would make January 11th, Bambi Madden Day in the City of Binghamton.

The public is invited to join Councilman Scaringi as well as Madden's family and friends at this event which aims to keep Madden's story alive.
