Be still my bacon loving heart! Could it be? Is it true? Will Binghamton be host to a bacon and cheese festival? The answer would be yes! Those who know me know that cheese, bacon and coffee are three of my biggest loves in life and a festival for two out of the three isn't bad at all!

The Binghamton Bacon and Cheese Fest will be held on Saturday June 7th from 12pm-3pm at the Broome County Fairgrounds in Whitney Point.

You'll enjoy cooking and eating contests, cheese and bacon related merchandise sales, adult beverages for those over 21-years-old, entertainment and so much more for just $5 with kids 12 and younger free!

I was thinking about going to the upcoming bacon fest in Philly in May, but changed my mind when I saw that admission was $75. I've never paid that much to get into a festival and never will. $5 is much more reasonable and while our festival might be a little smaller, at least it's local and will benefit local people.

I really hope someone there will sell chocolate covered bacon. I promise you that it's the perfect marriage of sweet and salty that'll leave you craving more after just one piece. And I hope someone else will sell fried cheese curds. When I lived in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, there was an Amish place that sold fried cheese curds. Seriously- my mouth is watering just thinking about them.
