The Tybee Island, Ga. boat captain who pressed criminal charges against Billy Currington in 2013 is now suing the singer. Charles Harvey Ferrelle III says Currington mocked, derided and libelled him before the plea deal was reached.

The Savannah Morning News reports a lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in Chatham County State Court. Ferrelle is seeking damages to be determined by a jury for “significant and ongoing anxiety and fear” every time his charter boat approaches Currington’s property.

The crux of the lawsuit accuses Currington of mocking Ferrelle on his official fan webpage on Sept. 25. He reportedly wrote that Ferrelle “ran like a scared rabbit on dry land,” was hallucinating and “talking to himself.

Last fall Currington pleaded no contest to abuse of an elderly person charges, and if he stays out of trouble for five years while on probation his record will be wiped clean. Last April, Ferrelle had accused Currington of harassing him as he drove his charter boat past Currington’s home on Tybee Island.
