Christina Knapp, an Endwell resident is battling a rare form of cancer called Soft Tissue Sarcoma and she needs our support.Christina was diagnosed in October of 2011 and had to go through 5 weeks of radiation therapy on her leg as well as serious surgery in February of 2012 to remove the tumor along with 70% of her quad muscle.  Five months after the surgery, Christina was re-diagnosed, but this time it spread to both lungs.

Christina is currently undergoing a stronger round of chemo after the doctors determined that the growth in her lungs is continuing to grow.

Christina worked at the Greater Binghamton Health Center as a safety security officer, but because of her long term illness, she’s unable to work and her bills are piling up.

Christina is a wife and a mother whose husband is working as many shifts as he can to help take care of his family, but it’s just not enough and this is why Christina’s friends are rallying around her to offer support by holding a dinner benefit this Saturday from 3pm-6pm at the Endwell Fire Station.

The cost is $10 for adults, children 5-12 years $5 and children under 5 are free.  The cost includes food and soft drink.  Baked goods will be sold separately and they’ll have a variety of specialty baskets to raffle off. Gluten free meals will also be available.

Please, if you’ve got some time Saturday, make an effort to stop by and share some love with Christina.  Being sick isn’t cheap and the bills just pile and pile and pile up. Let’s rally around this sweet woman and try to help lesson some of her burdens.

If you've got questions about Saturday's dinner or how else you can help Christina and her family, please email Lisa Stuckey-Walton at LStuckeyWalton@Gmail.com.
