My husband and I took our little guy to his first ballgame last Friday when the Binghamton Mets played the Reading Phillies and while we were looking forward to the possibility of  catching a foul ball, that didn't happen for us, but it did for one fan at a Pirates game last week.

Everyone knows that there's an unwritten rule that if you catch a foul ball at a ballgame, you’re supposed to give it to a little kid nearby. One Pittsburgh Pirates fan took that rule to the next level.

A guy was at a game between the Pirates and Giants last week when he caught a caught a foul ball off the bat of Pirates second baseman Neil Walker. The guy looked around and there were no kids nearby. He definitely could have pocketed the ball, but he didn't.

The man went all the way over to the other side of his section to give a little girl his prize.

As you'd expect, the little girl was was thrilled. What's even better is that the stadium exploded into applause when they say the man's gesture on the Jumbotron.

As an added bonus for this kindhearted Pirates fan, they ended up winning 5-2.
