My brothers collected baseball cards as did my husband when he was a kid, but I didn't really understand the whole concept until I had a son of my own. Now, he gets a pack of cards as a gift for major holidays like Easter. Who knows? Maybe they'll be worth a chunk of change when he has kids or grand-kids.

Get this- there's an abandoned warehouse in Detroit and it's filled with baseball cards. Literally filled. There are thousands and thousands of cards in the warehouse- many in the packaging they were originally seal in and many still in boxes. Some of the boxes have complete team sets including Major League Baseball of the time as well as hockey cards from the NHL and Ontario Hockey League and even NASCAR cards.

According to the Daily Mail, a couple of urban explorers (Urban explorers are people who scout out abandoned structures) stumbled on the find and the cards are worth more than $1 million.

Technically the cards belong to the owner of the building, but it appears the building has been abandoned for decades and one member of the exploration team has been selling some of the cards he found as his primary source of income.
