B-Mets Are Rockin’
The Binghamton Mets rolled to their sixth consecutive victory Jine 17 as they topped the Portland Sea Dogs 3-1 at Hadlock Field. Luis Cessa tossed eight innings of one-run ball to up his record to 6-4. He lowered his ERA to 2.34 which is fourth-best in the Eastern League.
Cessa's eight inning stint was the longest outing by a B-Met starter since Greg Peavey went eight innings against the New Britain Rock Cats on August 28, 2014. The win insures the B-Mets will win their third consecutive series. The B-Mets and Sea Dogs conclude their three-game series at 6:00 p.m. (air at 5:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).
Binghamton's closer, Paul Sewald, worked a perfect ninth inning to earn his eleventh save of the season. Binghamton ups its record to 34-30. Michael Fulmer is tonight's scheduled starter for the B-Mets. William Cuevas is set to oppose him for the Sea Dogs.
