Learning to tie your shoes is a right of passage. We look forward to the day we can finally drive a car or have a legal drink, but the first time you can tie your shoes is one of the most satisfying experiences.

I remember sitting in kindergarten class practicing tying my shoes on a wooden block that had holes drilled in with laces running through it. I remember taking construction paper and using a hole punch to make “eyelets” in the paper. Then taking our favorite colored laces and “tying” the two separate pieces of paper.

When I saw this viral video of a shoe tying trick I had to share it. The pure joy on this child’s face put me right back to when I was a kid. Ready to take on the world when I tied my first pair of light up shoes. It great to be proud and remember the little things!
