John Davison

I’m a local boy, born and raised and the second youngest of 4 kids. I love the outdoors, and much like Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown, if I could, I would spend the rest of my life on a beach with my toes in the sand. I enjoy being around positive people that dream big. Nature and animals are an important part of who I am, in fact, I have many rescue cats. In my spare time, I like to work out using non-traditional weight lifting techniques. Friends will call me a health nut. Country music is an essential part of my life as the Hawk has been very good to me since 1986. I’ve always said I have the most loyal listeners in the world. It’s thanks to my listening family that I received the Binghamton Broadcaster’s “Working Broadcaster of the Year” honor.

Where Are They Now: Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Were you are the Harford Fair in the late 80's when the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band played a sold out show?  I remember it well because "Fishin' In The Dark" was the hot request on the Hawk and they were about to have a huge #1 song.  New country fans hear Canaan Smith make reference to him being more of a "Nitty Gritty boy." The song is still awesome!
