John Davison

I’m a local boy, born and raised and the second youngest of 4 kids. I love the outdoors, and much like Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown, if I could, I would spend the rest of my life on a beach with my toes in the sand. I enjoy being around positive people that dream big. Nature and animals are an important part of who I am, in fact, I have many rescue cats. In my spare time, I like to work out using non-traditional weight lifting techniques. Friends will call me a health nut. Country music is an essential part of my life as the Hawk has been very good to me since 1986. I’ve always said I have the most loyal listeners in the world. It’s thanks to my listening family that I received the Binghamton Broadcaster’s “Working Broadcaster of the Year” honor.

Old Seeds-New Dirt and Spring Planting

I have a rather large garden in my yard in Binghamton.  Every spring, I  recall my Mom's  veggie garden on the west side and taking most of Mother's Day weekend to plant her fresh picked plants that she would by at her favorite greenhouse in Endicott.  Now that I live in the country, I have even more room so to save money, I start 98% of my plants by seed.

Extreme Water Shortage Will Affect the Southern Tier

It seems as though everyone I talk to has complained about the weather in the Southern Tier but actually with the exception of the devastating floods that hit many parts of the Southern Tier a few years back, we've actually had it quite good.  Take California for example.  "The Golden State" is entering a state of disaster.  Very Scary.
