Aubrie Sellers' new radio single appears to lash out at an ex for being a "Liar, Liar," but the edgy singer-songwriter reveals that it's not necessarily aimed at a man who did her wrong.

"Like a lot of my songs, it's about kind of seeing through crap," Sellers says in the interview above, which Taste of Country captured on the set of our RISERS shoot in February. RISERS is a new program that predicts and selects country's next big stars, and Sellers made the cut alongside Brett Young, Farewell Angelina, Runaway June, Jacob Davis, Brandon Lay and Kalie Shorr, giving an exclusive performance of "Liar, Liar," taping a blues cover and providing extensive behind-the-scenes insight into her music that fans can only see on Taste of Country.

"I think that's something I touch upon again and again in different forms," she states, adding that since she grew up immersed in the entertainment industry — Sellers' mother is Grammy-winning country star Lee Ann Womack — she has seen more than her fair share of fake people.

"Liar, Liar" is certainly not the only song on Seller's debut New City Blues album to take a shot at insincerity.

"I just don't have a tolerance for people being fake, I don't think," she tells us with a laugh. "Maybe especially when I think they have bad intentions."

Sellers' edgy style of country, which blends rock influences including Led Zeppelin and the Kinks with traditional country influences that include Ralph Stanley, earned her a spot opening for Miranda Lambert on her current Highway Vagabond Tour.

"She’s really different. She’s not afraid to be herself," Lambert says. "I feel like that is so important and so unique and I’m proud of her. She has not fallen in her mom’s footsteps or her dad or stepdad’s, who are all in the music business. She’s doing it on her own and I think she’s a great girl and a great performer."
