This terrifies me. And not because I'm worried about how I might be rated, but because I know how vicious people can be when they think they're hiding behind their computer screen and how they love to spew lies because they know someone, somewhere will believe them.

I can't even begin to tell you all of the insanely ridiculous things I've been attacked for by people who had nothing better to do and who thrived from "attempting" to pick a fight with me from behind the anonymous security of their computer screen. I say they "attempted," because I don't engage in fights- I ignore the trolls or have a face-to-face discussion with the more rational of them, as adults should. So, if they were hoping to get into an online war of words with me, they were pretty disappointed.

Anyway, apparently it’s not enough to simply rate restaurants, hotels, and other businesses anymore. Now,  thanks to the soon-to-be-launched 'Peeple app,' humans will have another way to be horrid to each other by rating other people. Sort of like a Yelp … for humans.

The app will allow users to review and give one- to five-star ratings to anyone they know. You can rate exes, co-workers, bosses, neighbors … you name it for the world to see.

Scary, right? Let's hope that more people than not know how to use their own intuition to decide whether or not they like someone, rather than relying solely on a potentially hate and lie filled app. Because the world has enough ugliness as it is, and God knows we don't need more.
