Have you ever looked at someone's selfie and wondered how it's even possible they look so amazing when you saw them like 5 minutes ago and they looked like a hot mess? How about when you see Instagram photos of a celebrity without makeup on? I don't know about you, but when I wake up, I look like I went two rounds with Rocky in my sleep. Not them- they look refreshed and fresh faced.

Or what about when you see a photo of someone and they look a whole lot thinner in the photo than they do in real life? You know they had more help than a great camera angle!

Chances are good that in each of those cases, the person posting the incredible photo has had a little help from an app or two. As a matter of fact, there's an actual selfie app that guarantees to makes your face look up to 15 pounds thinner. The app is called Skinniepix, and is 99 cents to download.

I gained about 15 pounds in my face when I was pregnant and it's decided to hang around and keep me company even now, a year later. I'm not going to pay to download the app, but I do think it would be fun to play with. Just play though. Not play and then post. Anyone who looks at me face to face would be able to tell that the real me and the app modified me are two different people. Except not really, I mean there's one one of me. But you know what I mean.

The creators of the app say that they're hoping people will use it as an inspiration to get on a healthy diet and exercise plan, but I somehow doubt that's why people will use it.

Just to note, I didn't download the Skinniepix app in the modified selfie photo of myself above. I played around in PhotoShop and added some totally-not-me makeup and slimmed down my face. I haven't had a face that skinny ever. While I like not having such puffy under eyes and less wrinkles, I just can't see doing this to myself all the time, although sometimes it is fun to play.
