City of Binghamton are investigating a reported street robbery and shots fired on the West Side early November 18.

The authorities say the report from  Main and Chapin Streets came in shortly after 2:30 a.m. and authorities were looking for a 27 year old man in a black hooded sweatshirt and grey camouflage pants.

The man was described as bi-racial with a mustache and may have a relative in Johnson City.

There had been media reports that the suspect attempted to hold up two convenience stores, but the latest word from City Police indicates an individual was told to leave one store and was seen behind another and neither business was robbed.

No other details are being made available.

Anyone with information is asked to call Binghamton Police at (607) 772-7076.
