Annette Funicello Passes Away at 70 [VIDEO TRIBUTE]

She was born in Utica, New York, best known as one of the original Mousketeer on "The Mickey Mouse Club" in the 1950's and 1960's.  Entertainment icon Annette Funicello passed away today at the age of 70.

Disney confirmed the death on Twitter a few minutes ago, releasing the following statement:  "Actress Annette Funicello, long-time Disney and Beach Party star, passed away on Monday April 8 at Mercy Southwest Hospital in Bakersfield, CA, at the age of 70. She died peacefully from complications due to Multiple Sclerosis, a disease she battled for over 25 years."

Annette was an inspiration to many and will be missed.\
