Alternate Street Parking in Johnson City Now In Effect
It’s that time of year you love so much. Halloween is behind us and that means that alternate street parking in Johnson City goes into effect. Oh happiness. I love shoveling a spot to move my car into and having someone sweep into it as soon as I’ve finished hauling my last shovel-full of snow but before I can get into my car to move it into the space I just shoveled.
The Village of Johnson City wants you to know that they enforce alternate side of the street parking that starts today and goes until March 31st. Between the hours of 2am and 6am, your car must be parked on the even side of the street if the date is an even number and on the odd side of the street if the date is an odd number.
Here’s an example for you: you get home from work at 5pm tonight and don’t plan on moving your vehicle until tomorrow morning. You can should be parked on the even side of the street because at 2am tomorrow morning, the date will be November 2nd.
And another example: you park your car on December 31st at 5pm and don’t plan to move it until the next day. You car should be parked on the odd side of the street because January 1st will also be an odd numbered day. A lot of people forget this and park on the even side and get a ticket and well, that’s not so fun.
