Tara loves to kayak at her grandmothers house on their pond. So when we saw some kayakers on the river by our house, I asked her if that is something that she would like to do. She replied that she would love to kayak there.

After hearing about an alligator in Whitney Point, she is having second thoughts. Over the weekend an alligator was spotted along the Tioughnioga River between Whitney Point and Lisle.

Whitney Point Mayor Ryan Reynolds said that the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has been contacted. It's believed that the alligator was once somebody's pet and was released in the area last month. It's small but you are encouraged not to approach it and you shouldn't go out and try to find it yourself.

If you see the gator, you are asked to contact the DEC at (607) 753-3095 immediately and to use caution in the area.
