There are many classic television shows that are available on video services and DVD and one of my favorites is All in The Family

TV viewers were introduced to the dim witted bigoted charter Archie Bunker in 1971, the cast of characters included, Edith, referred to by Archie as a 'Dingbat', his daughter Gloria, and her husband Mike, who was unemployed and of polish decent, Archie calls him a 'Meathead'.

I wonder what the kids of today would think of this show, it is the opposite of politically correct, although the joke was always Archie and his ridiculous prospective on Black Americans, Jews, Gays, Feminists, and pretty much every stupid stereotype we frown upon today.

From January 12, 1971 to April 8, 1979, we were treated to 30 minutes with Archie Bunker and his family each week. Millions of Americans still watch the show and several members of the younger generation are introduced to the classic sitcom through various video entertainment services.

'All In The Family' had four spin offs including, 'Archie Bunkers Place', 'The Jefferson's', and 'Maude and Gloria'.

Starting off the year in 1971, its eight-year run on prime time television combined dim witted humor with real life issues.

That included his dimwitted wife, Edith, referred to by Archie as a 'Dingbat', his daughter Gloria, and her husband Mike, who was unemployed and of polish decent, Archie calls him a 'Meathead'.

How would you explain this show to today's generation of TV viewers? A show where the main character makes fun of black people, Jews, gays, feminists, and pretty much every stupid stereotype we frown upon today.

The show worked because Archie was the butt of the jokes, and it was hilarious.

Now 'stifle yourselves', and check out some of the funniest moments on video below.
