When I think back to the many summers of my childhood, I think of sitting on top of the tallest metal slide, the heat stinging my legs and sun beating down on my back and not caring because sitting on my perch meant that I had a better view of the airplanes than the other kids.

A large part of my childhood was spend hanging around airplanes. My little local airport put on an air show every summer and as it worked out, my uncle worked at that airport for a bit and my grandparents also stored their small plane there.

If you're looking to make some memories that your kids won't ever forget, maybe you'll think about taking them to the 25th Annual Chenango County Airport Day at Lieutenant Warren E. Eaton Airport.

Lieutenant Warren E. Eaton Airport is located on Route 12 in Norwich and is open to the public, but on Saturday, June 13th, the airport will host Airport Day. Airport Day has exciting events planned from 6:30am to 1:30pm including:

6:30am- Hot Air Balloon Launch
8am- Fly-In Breakfast
8am- EAA Young Eagles Flight Sign-Ups and Flights
1pm- Dan Marcotte Air Show
1:30pm- Bill Gordon Air Show

Also on hand will be the "Lifenet Helicopter," First Robotics Team, Oneonta RC Flyers and many other displays.
