Two weeks ago, someone noticed a little kid sitting in a car outside a Sam's Club in in Richmond, Virginia with all the windows rolled up.  It was 87 degrees out, so they decided to call the police.

"Mom" is 25-year-old Laquanda Newby, who was inside the store shopping. The cops didn't arrest her, but she agreed to turn herself in later for contributing to the abuse of a child.

She wasn't facing any jail time, so she showed up at the police station on Monday to deal with the citation and left her kid in the car again.  It was 91 degrees out, and while she was inside talking to the cops, someone found her car sitting in the parking lot with all the windows up.

This time there were TWO kids in there, her six year old and her one year old baby.  She'd also left the keys on the floorboard. According to police, they'd been sitting there for over an hour, but were okay. They stayed at the station until their dad came to pick them up.

Laquanda is now facing two more charges of contributing to the abuse of a child, and a judge denied her bond.  So as of Tuesday, she was still in jail.
