It was 1986. I was six-years-old and he was five. His name was Billy and he was in love with me.

I've been friends with Billy for almost 30 years and it all started when he leaned over my desk and drew a heart on my paper and told me he loved me. I didn't love him, but I told him that we could be friends, and so we were and still are.

When did the world become such an uptight, sue happy place? When did we start robbing kids of their innocence?  A 9-year-old boy was told he could be charged with sexual harassment for sending love notes to a girl in his fourth-grade class.

Apparently the notes said things like that he thought the girl was “pretty and cute” and that her eyes “sparkled like diamonds.”

The reason all of this has come to a head is because other kids in the class found out about the notes and started teasing the little boy, saying horrid things like that he wanted to see the little girl without her clothes on. That was the furthest thing from the little boy's mind, but the principal intervened and the boy was told to stop sending the notes ... or he could face charges of sexual harassment.

The boys mom said, “My 9-year-old doesn’t even know what sexual harassment means."
