I still get asked the same question every now and then,"What did you do to lose so much weight? Well, I had some medical issues that lead to my doctor finding out I had a fatty liver. Doc says to me "If you wanna cleanse and lose weight, the fastest way is Vegan. It's like shaving it off." So, I did. Started shopping looking for the "V" on the labels at never looked back. So that's one way. Seven more ways hit the social media conversation site Reddit recently, and average people just like you and I started dropping their insight on one change that helped them do it.

Here are the top seven:

1. Stop drinking soda and juice. One person switched to unsweetened tea and dropped a bunch of weight. And obviously water is always a good choice.

2. Get a dog. Not just because you'll have to walk it. They said it also forced them into a routine, so they were less likely to just sit on the couch and snack it up all day.

3. Cook more and stop ordering in. Restaurant food is loaded with salt and fat. So you'll naturally lose weight if you cook more. And planning your meals also helps.

4. Snack on raw veggies instead of junk food. Which might seem impossible. But you'll definitely lose weight if you stick with it.(<--Proven truth)

5. Don't bring junk food into the house. If your kids are demanding empty calorie foods, just buy the crap they like, leaving behind the stuff you do.

6. Stop putting sugar in your coffee. One person said they got used to it after about a month. I stopped using sugar and creamer.

7. Drink less alcohol. going on a hard drinking binge for a night out can rack up a thousand calories or more. First, the beer is carb heavy, and mixed drinks are sugar packed and depending on your favorite vice, could contain cream. Then you find yourself drunk as a leprechaun on St. Patrick's Day, you'll end up eating pizza or fast food that'll add even more calories that you'll never burn off. Did you know that the caloric intake of one beer equals jogging on the treadmill for 15 minutes at 6 MPH? Not worth it.

8. Stop it with the milk! We've been taught since childhood that milk does a body good. Um I beg to differ. Sure we all need calcium when we are younger. They have supplements for that. The amount of calories in a 16oz glass of everyone's favorite, 2% milk comes out to about 250 calories. That means roughly 35 minutes on a moderate bike ride to burn off the milk, Forget the Oreo's just you ate with it! Remember, milk is made for a baby cow. You are a full grown human. Forget it exists!
