It seems as though everyone has tightened their belts a bit with the economy over the past few years.  While the financial "experts" say the economy is improving every month, a new poll from the PR Newswire suggests there are a number of things Americans would keep paying for regardless of their financial situation.

#7-  Going out to eat ... 9%

#6-  Traveling ... 10%

#5-  Cable TV ... 24%

#4-  Their smartphone ... 29%

#3-  Their pets ... 36%

#2-  Their car ... 40%

#1- Their Internet connection ... 55% said they'd never give that up.

The poll also found that 36% of Americans say they live from paycheck to paycheck almost every month, down from 40% from last year's survey, and the 46% high from 2008.

I know I could easily give up all the above except my pets and car.  I would miss the internet connection but I would survive.  I just wish there were more net options in the Binghamton area.  And cable TV, I am so close to cutting now.

So what do you think?  Are things getting better.  What is the one thing you would never give up, no matter what?
