It's a situation we've all been in- we're incredibly sick, but either don't have vacation/sick time or we wind up sick on the same day we have to cover for a co-worker who's out. So what do we do? We go to work, naturally.

Nothing frustrates me more than getting sick because of something at work. But I  understand that when there's no other option, there's no other option and unfortunately we live in a world where most employers don't care if we spread germs or not- they just want us to get the job done.

Staples just sponsored a survey that found 60 percent of employees say they go to work even if they know they have the flu.

Of those who go to the office with the bug, 40 percent think their workloads are too overwhelming to take a sick day and 31 percent say they show up sick because their boss appreciates it (translation: their boss has 3 heads and breathes fire).

Since we know co-workers going to work sick isn't going to change anytime soon, you might want to join me and the 70 percent of survey respondent who clean their work spaces regularly.
