If you've got a soft spot in your heart for animals, then maybe you'll be able to find a little room in your schedule to help out the Broome County Humane Society.

The Humane Society's second annual 5k Wag, Walk and Run happens on Saturday June 7th at Otsiningo Park. The run begins at 9am with the walk starting shortly after. Registration begins at 8am.

Walkers and their furry friends are invited to help support homeless animals. Dogs can be registered to walk for no extra fee, but because of safety reasons, dogs are not allowed to enter the run portion of the race.

If you'd like to walk with your dog, you'll need to submit a copy of proof of rabies along with a pre-registration form. All pre-registered dogs will receive a "doggy bag" at the race.

Registration fees received by June 2nd are $25 and includes a t-shirt or $30 without a shirt. Registration fees after June 2nd are $25 and does not include a t-shirt. Registration forms can be found here.

The Broome County Humane Society is an independent, non-profit animal welfare organization. They receive no government funding and rely solely on donations and fundraising events. They're dedicated to the prevention of animal cruelty and finding permanent, loving homes for companion animals.
