5 Ways to Achieve Your New Year’s Goals
2017 was brutal, wasn't it? I literally haven't spoken to a single person who wasn't slammed by something awful last year. I guess that's why I have such huge expectations for 2018. I mean, I can only hope that this year doesn't follow in the footsteps of last year and I'm bound and determined to keep a positive attitude so that it doesn't.
A new year means new goals and making new life changes. Life coach and author, Mark Richard Webb has some tips for setting and actually achieving the life goals that you and I will be setting this year.
What do you want to accomplish this year? Think about some reasonable milestones you can set for the first month, then for three months, then for six months, and then for the rest of the year. Don't overdo things the first week because you'll just burn out. Set out at a steady pace and you'll have a better chance of things falling into place.
Close your eyes and really visualize your goal. When you take the time to visualize your goal, you're allowing yourself to believe that your goal is actually within reach.
As bound and determined as you might be, you really shouldn't try to reach your goal on your own. Think of different ways you can get information and encouragement. Things like self-improvement books, lectures, online classes and such will really help in those moments when you find yourself needing positive reinforcement.
If you want your goal to happen, really want it to happen, you've got to be willing to do anything and everything. You'll have to push yourself beyond your limits and step out of your comfort zone. Changing your current habits will help you do this.
Remind yourself that your goal isn't going to become a reality overnight, it's going to take time. Have patience with yourself and with the process.
